I used to have a climbing roses over the brick wall, but gave it up because of the difficulty of pruning and training thorny vines at high altitudes, so I planted and trained wisteria.
In Japan, wisteria is usually planted on a trellis, but in British gardens it is often planted on a wall or in various other ways.
Wisteria floribunda, which was originally potted, has been planted in the ground behind the left side of the brick wall.
A seedling grown from the fruit of this wisteria was planted in the ground behind the brick wall to the right.
A few years later, many vines grew and finally this spring flower buds appeared. On the left side there are many flower buds. The right side was expected to flower later because it was a seedling, but we found a single flower bud on it.
It will start to flower in about two weeks. I am looking forward to seeing the wisteria flowers.
