Today I would like to show you two fruit trees with pink flowers in our garden.
One is the crab apple (a wild apple with small, sour fruit) in the Main Garden. Its dark pink flowers bloom throughout April. It is not yet fruitful, but in autumn it produces small bright red berries that are as beautiful as the spring flowers.
今日は庭でピンクの花をつけている二種類の果樹を紹介します.
ひとつはメインガーデンのクラブアップル（酸っぱくて小さな実をつける野生のリンゴ）です. 濃いピンクの花が四月中咲き続けます. まだ実付きはよくありませんが、秋には真っ赤な小さな実をつけて春の花と同様に綺麗です.
Another fruit tree is the Chinese quince in the Bluebell garden. It is a bright pink with a slight salmon-pink tinge. It produces yellow berries the size of baseballs or softballs in autumn. The berries are not eaten raw, but are soaked in honey and used as a winter throat remedy.
もう一つの果樹は、ブルーベルの庭のカリンです. 少しサーモンピンクがかった明るいピンク色です. 秋に野球やソフトボールのボール大の黄色い実をつけます. 実は生では食べられませんが、はちみつ漬けにして、冬の喉の薬にしています.
