In the peony bed in the main garden, the pink harbaceous peonies have started to flower after the yellow tree peony. There is only one dark pink flower, but the pale pink gradient peony has many buds and about five blooms.
Next to it, Allium cristophii has started to flower. It is a spherical cluster of small metallic blue-purple star-like flowers. I saw it in a garden in England and was fascinated by it, and it has bloomed every year in small numbers for more than 10 years in our garden.
Dear Poirot
ReplyDeleteBeautiful peonies. May will be the month for the three A's here in the UK - alliums, aquilegias and astrantias (as well as the Chelsea Flower Show). I'm looking forward to it!
Best wishes
Ellie
