Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

POTAGER IN LATE MAY - CORN POPPIES AND CORNFLOWERS IN FULL BLOOM (五月の終わりのポタジェ、ヒナゲシとヤグルマギク満開)

At the end of May, the foxgloves are almost finished flowering and many seeds are maturing. The roses are also almost finished. The flax flowers are almost finished and many seeds are maturing.

And there are now many corn poppies and cornflowers in bloom.

In June, we collect the seeds of digitalis and flax, as well as of poppies and cornflowers.

In the vegetable raised beds, asparagus is producing lots of flowers and berries after many spring shoots have been harvested. Potatoes are flowering, dwarf tomato plants are growing and soy bean seeds have germinated.

五月の終わりにはジギタリスの花もほとんど終わりで、沢山の種が成熟してきています。バラもほぼ終わっています。亜麻の花もほとんど終わって、沢山の種をつけています。

そして、ヒナゲシとヤグルマギクが今たくさん咲いています。

六月になるとジギタリスや亜麻、そしてヒナゲシやヤグルマギクの種を採ります。

野菜のレイズドベッドでは、沢山春から新芽を収穫したアスパラガスがたくさん花や実をつけています。ジャガイモが花を咲かせ、矮性トマトの苗が育ち、枝豆の種が発芽しました。
