Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

REMOVAL OF CENTRAL FLOWER BED COMPLETED (中央花壇の撤去作業完了しました)

The removal of the central flowerbed, which had started at the beginning of this year, was finally completed at the end of April.

The reason for this is to reduce the amount of garden work and to provide space for work and gatherings. It is part of sustainable gardening for us.

The removal has been completed, but the levelling of the ground is unlikely to be finished before the open garden. We ask that visitors to the garden take extra care with their footing for their own safety.

今年の初めから開始していた中央花壇の撤去作業もやっと四月末に完了しました。

その理由は庭作業量の低減、作業や集いのためのスペースの確保です。私たちにとっての持続可能なガーデニングの一環です。

撤去は終わりましたが、地面の整地や仕上げがオープンガーデンまでには終わりそうもありません。ご来園の際は安全のため足元に十分気をつけて頂くようお願いいたします。
