Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

PRUNING BOX HEDGE OF THE POTAGER BEFORE OPENING GARDEN (ポタジェのボックス生垣をオープンガーデン前に散髪)

We are opening our garden to public with charity in three weeks.

Boxwood hedge of the potager has grown vigorously in spring,

and the path became narrower to walk.

So, we pruned it yesterday.

It was a nice sunny day with a cool wind.

The highest temperature was around 25 degrees Celcius.

After trimming, the path became a little wider,

and the hedge looked much neat!

三週間後にチャリティーで庭を一般公開しますが、

ポタジェのボックスの生垣が春に元気に育って

園路が歩くには狭くなりましたので、

昨日、剪定をしました.

いいお天気で涼しい風が吹いて

最高気温は摂氏25度ぐらいでした.

剪定したら園路がちょっと広くなって、

見た目もずっとすっきり！

I love it when the box as been freshly cut and it all looks so neat and tidy. Good luck with your open gardens, I wish I could come along and have a walk round such a wonderful place.
