It has now been over ten years since we first began growing bluebells beneath the Japanese apricot and pear trees in our bluebell garden. Each year in mid-April, beautiful blue flowers bloom, creating a lovely scene for a brief period.
In 2022, our bluebell garden was featured in the viewers' gardens segment of a British BBC television gardening programme.
About two weeks ago, I mulched the slope where the bluebells are planted with leaf mould. I decided to plant bluebells on the section to the right of this too. Using a hand-held bulb planter, I made holes and planted two or three bulbs in each one. Finally, I mulched the whole area with leaf mould. Next spring, we should see an even more beautiful carpet of blue than before.
ブルーベルの庭の梅や洋梨の木の下にブルーベルを育て初めてすでに10年以上が経過しました。毎年4月の中旬に美しいブルーの花が咲いて短い期間ですが素敵な景観となります。
2022年にはイギリスのBBCテレビの園芸番組の視聴者の庭の紹介コーナーで私たちのブルーベルの庭が紹介されました。
ブルーベルを植えている斜面には2週間ほど前に腐葉土でマルチングをしましたが、その右側の部分にもブルーベルを植えることにしました。ハンドバルブプランターを使って穴をあけて、一つの穴に2個か3個の球根を植えました。最後に全体に腐葉土をマルチングしました。来年の春は今までよりさらに美しいブルーの絨毯の風景が見られることでしょう。
