The rain lily, the flower that heralds the arrival of autumn, have started to bloom in our garden. Last weekend we had the first autumn air, with cool mornings and evenings and brisk heat during the day.
The rain lily is bulbous plant, and planted in pots, usually placed behind the fence, but at this time of year it takes centre stage in front of the fence. I put it next to the cuphea, which has been flowering since the summer.
The flowers open in the morning sun and close in the evening. The opening of the flowers is shown in the video below.
私たちの庭に秋の訪れを知らせる花、タマスダレが咲きだしました. 先週末は初めて秋の空気が流れ込み、朝晩涼しく、日中も爽やかな暑さでした.
タマスダレは球根植物で鉢植えにしていて、いつもはフェンスの裏側に置いていますが、この時期はフェンスの前で主役になります. 夏から咲いてきたクフェアの隣に置きました.
朝日をあびると花は開き、夕方には閉じます. 花が開く様子は動画でちょっと紹介しています.
