Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

ORANGE AND RED IN SUMMER (夏のオレンジと赤)

It has been terribly hot and humid, and now the rainy season is back.

In the garden, summer flowers, showy orange and dark orange flowers that are almost bright red, are blooming.

Tiger lily is a very conspicuous flower, bright orange with dark spots, which naturally multiplies easily and blooms here and there in the garden.

The trumpet lily is a vine plant, and one species, Campsis radicans, is grown in a tall standardized form, about 4 metres high. It is a perfect summer flower that continuously produces dark red-orange flowers in the hot midsummer months.

ひどく蒸し暑い日が続いて、今度はまた梅雨が逆戻りです。

庭では夏の花、派手なオレンジ色や真っ赤に近い濃いオレンジ色の花が咲いています。

オニユリは鮮やかなオレンジ色に濃い斑点のあるとても目立つ花で、自然に増えやすく、庭のあちこちで咲きます。

ノウゼンカズラはつる性植物で、その一種のアメリカノウゼンカズラを高さ４メートルほどの高いスタンダード仕立てにして育てています。真夏の暑い時期に濃い赤橙色の花を続けてつける夏にぴったりの花です。
