Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

CENTRAL FLOWER BED FILLED WITH COLOURFUL FLOWERS (色とりどりの花が咲く中央花壇)

At the end of May, the first roses are almost finished and the late roses and second flowers are in bloom. The central flower beds are busy with all kinds of flowers. In addition to several varieties of roses, there are pink campanulas, white orlaya (lace flowers), blue nigella, yellow margaret, blue geranium, etc. And the Red Dorothy Perkins is still in full bloom.

五月の終わり、バラの一番花はほとんど終わって、遅咲きのバラや二番花が咲いています. 中央花壇ではいろんな花が咲いてにぎやかです. 何種類かのバラに加えて、ピンクのカンパニュラ、白いオルレア（レースフラワー）、青いニゲラ、黄色いマーガレット、青いゲラニウム、などなど. そして、レッドドロシーパーキンスはまだ満開です.

PASSION FLOWERS ON THE WALL OF THE GARDEN ROOM (ガーデンルームの壁に咲くトケイソウ)

The passion flowers that I have trained to the wall of the garden room are flowering every day. It rarely has many flowers together as they wilt in a day, but on this day there were eight flowers at the same time. The red roses on the obelisk are in full bloom and some of the other roses are starting to flower again. The roses will continue to bloom for a while, but soon it will be time for the rainy season.

ガーデンルームの壁に誘引したトケイソウが毎日花を咲かせています. 一日で萎んでしまうので、たくさんの花が一緒に咲くことは少ないのですが、この日は同時に8個も花が咲いていました. オベリスクの赤いバラは満開で、その他のバラもまた少し咲き始めています. これからも繰り返してしばらくはバラの花も咲きますが、もうすぐ梅雨の時期になります.

WHITE FLOWERS IN LATE MAY (五月下旬の白い花々)

Along the path from the main garden to the bluebell garden, white Campanula punctata is in full bloom. The flowers are pretty and bell-shaped, with small spots on the inside of the flower. The scientific name 'punctata' means spot in Latin.

メインガーデンからブルーベルの庭へ続く道沿いでは白いホタルブクロが満開です. 可愛らしい釣鐘型の花で、花の中を見ると小さな斑点があります. 学名のプンクタータは斑点を意味します.

Further along the path, the bluebell garden comes into view. In the bluebell garden, the bluebell leaves are crawling on the ground and are still green. The white flowers in the foreground are chameleon plant. There are a few double flowers mixed in with the single flowers. They have a distinctive fragrance.

更に園路を進むとブルーベルの庭が見えてきます. ブルーベルの庭ではブルーベルの葉は地面に這っていますが、まだ緑色をしています. その手前に白い花を咲かせているのはドクダミです. 一重の花に交じって、八重の花も少しあります. 独特の香りがしています.

THE LAST RED ROSE HAS BLOOMED (最後の赤いバラ開花)

The red climbing rose 'Excelsa', also known as 'Red Dorothy Perkins', has flowered and is now in bloom, which I have trained to the bronze obelisk in the central flower bed in the Main garden. The flowers are bright red with a hint of pink. The afternoon sun makes them glow a dazzling red. In the central flower bed, pink campanulas and white laceflowers are also in bloom and the area is still very lively.

主庭の中央花壇にあるブロンズ色のオベリスクに誘引した赤いつるバラのエクセルサ、別名レッドドロシーパーキンスが開花しました. 花色は少しピンクがかった真っ赤です. 午後の日差しで眩いばかりに真っ赤に輝いています. 中央花壇ではピンクのカンパニュラ、白いレースフラワーなども咲いて、まだまだにぎやかです.

DES LITS DE PIVOINE (ピオニーの花壇)

Aujourd'hui, nous avons reçu un appel très triste - le décès d'une femme.

La dernière photo que la femme a vue.

Elle était une fan de mon blog.

Elle n'a pas célébré le 50e anniversaire de sa première rencontre.

Je prie pour qu'elle repose en paix.

J'étais dans le jardin de Bluebell à ce moment-là, prenant des photos de jonquilles trompettes.

FLOWERS IN THE MORNING OF LATE MAY (五月下旬の庭の花々)

It was sunny all day today, with a high of 28°C (82°F) and sweaty daytime temperatures. I avoided working in the garden during the day and worked in the garden in the morning and evening. Early in the morning, before the sun has yet to shine in the main garden, the garden looks beautiful. Some flowers (such as water lilies) do not open until the sun rises, but it is a cool and pleasant time with temperatures less than 20°C.

今日は一日晴れて、最高気温が28℃まで上がり、昼間は汗ばむ陽気でした. 昼間の庭仕事は避けて、午前中と夕方に庭で作業をしました. 早朝、まだ主庭に日が射す前の時間、庭は美しい表情を見せます. 日が昇らないと開かない花（スイレンなど）もありますが、気温が20度以下で涼しくて気持ちのよい時間です.

PINK ROSES AT THEIR BEST (ピンクのバラの最高の時)

Today is sunny and hot, but the air is dry and fresh.

The pink roses on the rose steps are at their best. The early-blooming roses, 'Mary Rose' and 'Sky Lark', have finished their first flowers, but the other roses are now blooming beautifully. The arch rose, Angela, is still beautiful.

今日は晴れて暑いですが、空気が乾燥していて爽やかです.

バラの階段のピンクのバラたちが最高の時を迎えています. 早咲きの薔薇、メアリーローズやスカイラークは一番花はもう終わりましたが、その他のバラが綺麗に咲いています. アーチの薔薇、アンジェラもまだまだ綺麗です.
