Petit English Garden of MARPLE & POIROT

My wife and I started gardening in Fukuoka (Japan) in 2003. There was nothing but muddy clayey sloping land. At the beginning we made several structure such as steps and paths, and planted turf, fruit trees, roses, herbs etc. In 2010, we visited several famous English gardens, including Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Mottisfont Abbey Garden and Hidcote Manor Garden. We were shocked by the glory of those gardens. Since then, we have been trying to make small but glorious gardens by ourselves.

庭の紹介

　夫婦で庭づくりを福岡の郊外で2003年に始めました.　赤土むきだしの斜面にまず階段や園路をつくって芝をはり、果樹やバラ、ハーブなどを植えました.

　2010年にイギリスの有名なガーデンの、シシングハースト、モティスフォントアビー、ヒドコートマナーなどを回り、その素晴らしさに圧倒され、それから自分たちで小さくても素晴らしい庭をめざして庭づくりをつづけています.

RED-PURPLE FLOWERS OF HYACINTH ORCHID AND BABIANA (赤紫の紫蘭とバビアナ)

Two varieties of reddish-purple flowers are currently in bloom in the main garden. One is the hyacinth orchid. A member of the orchid family, it is a truly magnificent plant with beautiful foliage. It thrives in the partial shade of the garden room and blooms beautifully every year. The other is the bulbous plant known as Babiana. We grow it in pots. It is a deep reddish-purple colour, and the stamens are the same shade. Its leaves are more slender and elongated than those of the hyacinth orchid.

メインガーデンでは今、2種類の赤紫色の花がきれいです。ひとつはシラン（紫蘭）。蘭の仲間で美しい葉とともにとても素晴らしい植物です。ガーデンルームの半日陰を気に入って、毎年きれいに咲いてくれます。もう一つは球根植物のバビアナです。鉢で育てています。濃い赤紫色です。しべも同じ色です。葉はシランより細長い形をしています。
