We have several varieties of peony in the peony bed. Some grow early and others grow late. Each variety shows different characters including colour and shape of leaves. The earliest one flowers in two weeks, and others will flower in the middle of May when roses are in full bloom.

Dear Poirot
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are looking lovely already but will look amazing when they flower. I have recently got some patio peonies, designed for pots (as I really don't have any room in the borders). One, 'Athens' has some flower buds, but the other, 'Madrid', is still tightly closed and hasn't started unfurling its leaves yet. I am looking forward to seeing how they do.
I look forward to seeing photos of your peonies in flower.
Best wishes
Ellie
Thank you for your comment. When I made a flower bed for peonies, I planted 7 or 8 variety. Most of them flowered, but two varieties did not flower yet. It's not easy to grow.
DeleteYou have a lovely blog, and your photos are very pretty. Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada. :)
