Allium christophii is called stars of Persia. It is ornamentally grown for its spring bloom of large, spherical, pale lavender flowerheads. It has been my favorite since I first looked it at the Sissinghurst Castle in Kent. Last October, I added bulbs into the peony bed. Now we can look at the beautiful Persian stars.

We planted another variety of allium in the border. It is Allium unifolium. Pale bluish pink colour is stunning. You can also look at it on the wall paper of this blog.
